KuroNeko: That's nice, trying different angles instead of focusing on the ones you're confortable with is a good way to improve.
I think her neck should be placed more at the back of her head instead of being balanced in the middle like a human, but other than that it's quite good.

Pools are the best way to listen to these. I know, no one ever uses Pools but I do! Just click on Pools in the upper right and you'll be able to select all of these, in order, easily. Pretty cool feature for relating posts together.

Zargothrax: @Sashimi: No! I took his design when drawing the snout. Apart from that, we both seem to have a preference for sharp corners / angular designs.

Maybe this is the evil twin of Katia instead, Angular-Kat, who is instead of being unfortunate, causes misfortune on those around herself, is suffering from nightmares involving a homeless guy, causing her to have a phobia of poverty, and is an adept with frost magic (also with front-end web application frameworks huehuehue).
Wow that was really bad, let's just forget about Angular-Kat forever. Will keep the style around though. Already have a few ideas how to improve it.

KuroNeko: This is not very good but I'm still happy with how it turned out, this is the first time I try animating something.

If I may offer a little input however, while the individual frames are very well drawn, the timing feels a little off. I'm not sure if your going for more of a 'slow rise from the water' or 'energetic eruption', but the smoothness with which she ascends doesn't math up with the relative snappiness that she comes back down with.

I had a little go at tweaking the timing (and faking some intermediate frames) to see if I could get the motion looking a little smoother, although I'm not thrilled with how my attempt came out.


The main point I tried to address with this was to have her spend a little longer at the peak of her ascension and for her eye opening to be faster. Basically, to put a little more emphasis on the keyframes of the animation.

Honestly, there are people here far more qualified to talk about this kind of stuff than myself, so hopefully they'll be able to be of more help than I can.

All that aside though, this is adorable as heck!
