bluedraggy: Something Kaz drew years ago and sent me. It's been languishing on my computer table forever, so finally scanned and colored it a bit.

As for context, who knows. Here's mine though!

While Quill-Weave was never much for high society, she did see the benefit in staying in the local royalty's good graces. It was her great fortune that Countess Millona felt having an author - and an Argonian no less - in her inner circle was a good thing, so she made it a policy to always attend any invitation she received. Quill-Weave had her doubts that the countess actually read any of her books, and she was quite sure that part of her admission into the countess' circle of friends was to act as the Token Lizard. But the perks outweighed the annoyances.

So when she actually received an invitation to a dinner cruise with the countess, she was more than happy to comply. She'd never been on a cruise before, even if it was just around the bay so the countess could show off her new ship. It didn't even bother her that the countess had asked if she could bring her friend along. '...that cat you brought last time. She was delightful!' may not have been the politically correct way to phrase it, but when you are a countess, you are by definition politically correct.

She had gone shopping with her friend, in fact, splurging more than was strictly necessary on the finest dinner gown she had ever owned. Before she left for the docks, she spent a solid hour preening in front of a mirror - of course hating herself all the while for it. She even helped her friend, and they walked hand-in-hand to the dock.

All had gone perfectly until after dinner when the guests were sipping drinks and chatting. She hadn't seen what sparked the incident, but before she knew it there were shouts of "Man Overboard" and Quill looked over the railing to see exactly what she expected to see. A flash of yellow in a wide, wide sea.

It isn't true that cats can't swim. In fact, they can swim quite well. They don't like it, and their claws can be quite sharp, but they can definitely swim. Quill had verified that years ago. However, her friend was not a cat.

She took one last look at her dress and sighed. But this was no time to be petty, and there was no time to disrobe. The yellow cat had gone under.

Later she was a little comforted to know that the consensus onboard was that it had been the best excecuted dive in full dress they'd ever seen. She'd hardly made a splash. They gave her straight 10s.

KuroNeko: Yay, more art of Quill
I really like how this one look, the pose, the shading and lighting, the light rays filtering through the water... it really feels like she's underwater.
Great work to both of you.

I can see this story ending in romance... They drift away at the mercy of the current to find themselves on a deserted island. Quill and Katia have their own survival adventures and then kissing. cool story ;)!

Zargothrax: So majestic!
In my opinion it's also pretty dream-like.
