Radiocaster: New page! Had a lot of personal stuff happen between the last one and now, but I'm finally ready to release this one. We get our first good look at the mysterious assailant from a few pages ago. Is he a friend or foe? You'll just have to wait and see.
Radiocaster: Quick Guillemet made in a few days. Does this make me the first person to give her actual clothes? I thought she would like fishing, maybe you can think of this as an older Guille who has a job.
The next page of Dragonbreak Protocol has made good progress, so expect to see that soon enough.
Radiocaster: @Zargothrax: Nothing like smuggling cash in your digestive tract for later purchases. Let's hope the bartender doesn't have a good sense of smell.
Radiocaster: The best skateboarding games always were the ones that didn't sugarcoat how difficult cool skateboarding actually is and properly represented people eating shit on the curb
Radiocaster: @NewFace: Granted, the official story has never established that vaginas are a trait generally indicative of females. Hopefully the next update will clarify this incredibly important and glaring plot hole.
Radiocaster: Alright, here's the next page after all this time. It took long due to a mix of other projects demanding my attention and the fact that I got sick halfway through making it. I don't know if it's up to my usual standards, but I still enjoyed making it.
Radiocaster: @KuroNeko: If you sacrifice her nine times, she fills the board with skeletons. It usually doesn't actually help, it's just annoying. Total misplay, really.
Radiocaster: He should always remember that there's a convenient previewer tool at the side of the page that seems to work pretty well... most of the time Do you smell something burning?
Radiocaster: @NotGodOkay: With all due respect, this is not the place for this discussion, and your accusation of brainwashing leads me to believe you aren't interested in a measured discussion anyway. Save us trouble and let us all do something better with our time.
Radiocaster: @NotGodOkay: Showing appreciation for an identity isn't "political" and neither is a flag that represents that proudness. Have you considered that the only one making things political is you?
Radiocaster: Something I made during finals week. Ended up looking less cool than it was in my head, so uh, just pretend she's about to do some badass ninja shit with that sword!
Radiocaster: This page took me longer than I would have liked, but here it is; my first attempt at a fight scene. It's not surprising this demon wasn't much of a challenge; how good at fighting would you be if you were built yesterday, blinded by a poorly aimed dagger, and the rule of cool is in effect?
Radiocaster: @KuroNeko: Koji Igarashi's game is probably going to be the better continuation of the series anyway. He was the heart and soul of Castlevania's golden age and it's no surprise that the series started cratering when he left. Dude left to make his own metroidvania after Konami told him gamers didn't like the genre anymore, and ironically managed to land it right before a huge metroidvania resurgance. I also hear that he was one of the reasons why the TV show ended up in development hell for a while, and I don't blame him for that either considering how much of a pointless departure the final product was from the games, if you ask me. It's pretty telling how Konami has just delegated the series to ports, very occasional remakes, and other material that just progressively decreases in quality. They just don't care about Castlevania as a serious property and it's tragic considering the relative lack of European mythology heavy games. I guess the true badass 3D ressurection of Castlevania will just have to be that one mod that adds chain whips to Skyrim.
Radiocaster: This joke makes more sense if you know about the easter eggs in Oblivion. I also just wanted an excuse to draw Alucard eating Count Chocula. I think that would be less like a human eating human-o's and more like how Wheaties has athletes on the front. Don't ask me how crazy the timeline is where Alucard, Count Chocula, and the Elder Scrolls universe exist together. I also couldn't find any crossover art between Castlevania and Prequel (though this piece is worth a mention) and decided to remedy that. My design for Alucard was mostly based off art from SotN, just made more cartoony. Katia's outfit was something I doodled inbetween projects and decided to use because it looks a bit like Richter Belmont; though I'm not sure if I like it with her mage robe colors. She has two whips, because what idiot throws away one after getting an upgrade? I asked some friends to suggest things to put in the background, 200 points to whoever can correctly guess which one actually relates to Alucard.
Radiocaster: stephane made a callout post on his twitter dot com
sigrid the mage is a bitch-ass motherfucker
she pissed on my wife, that's right, she took her nord fuckin' magic wand out and pissed on my fucking wife
Radiocaster: Boom! Sorry it's been a long time since the last update. I didn't have a lot of spare time to work on it, and when I finally did, I felt the need to make an extra-long update. Who's the shadowy figure with strange sayings? What terrifying creatures await outside of the safety of the mage's guild? Will Katia get a badass legendary weapon? Will Radiocaster ever figure out how to format his text better? I don't fuckin' know!
Radiocaster: We all need a memory we can hold onto... It's your right and your privilege; the rite of passage... but for the wandering... the wandering...
The coldest ones often make themselves known first; It is hard to see the warmth in them. For this I tell you; walls hold back the icy wind, but sails make it their lifeblood...
Radiocaster: The page was named such because it's what caffeine does, and because Sigrid is acting scatterbrained. I had to resist the temptation to intentionally place Katia's eyes too far apart on panel 3. You can argue that vacuum/siphon brewers are too modern for the setting, but considering that brewing is adjacent to alchemy, the concept isn't that complicated, and that it hardly looks out of place alongside other alchemy equipment, I thought it was a good choice. How could you spend all day surrounded by boiling glassware and not observe that steam rises and pushes water around?
