Zargothrax: @bluedraggy: Aw, you're too kind. As for the techniques used, painting shadows on a blank mask is a well known technique I can recommend. Calculating the lights from that with the curve functions on the other hand is something I came up with mid-drawing, so I wouldn't really call that a reputable technique, use with caution.
@Rick2tails: Thank you!
@KuroNeko: Well, maybe someone can point out something to improve upon it! As for perfecting a drawing, it's good to do from time to time. Emphasis on that though. Compare how many uploads you have, compared to me. I'm not an example to follow when it comes to balancing out when to move on. I'm quite "tense" when it comes to drawing. If something looks off, it's not good enough, I can't look past it. Loosening up somehow would be nice.
@Varanonegro: Gracias!
@TempIntel: Thank you. I tried drawing without the anatomy first a few times and it never ended well. With a complicated pose like this, it was out of question to leave it out.
Zargothrax: Tempintel is the unsung hero of the collaboration. The chain of Katias could not be connected, because there was a Katia who required a brush being held really low to be painted on. So, he drew a Katia that held the brush low, but could be painted on high (on the foot), so that it could be connected with the previous one. <salutes>
Zargothrax: I decided to do a bit more than just reupload my entry separately without adding or changing anything. But for the sake of completeness, here is the finished png version of my entry:
Zargothrax: Yeah it's like in the first season of Game of Thrones. But her disappointment was so strong, it managed to overwrite pain, in her facial expression.
Zargothrax: 6.th is AMK's work, its on the bottom of the apron
Bluedraggy drew his art
I don't think Vaktus was ever here officially, but should be tagged

Zargothrax: @damrok4321: Someone said that Kazerad said that, if I recall correctly. (Although I doubt he stated her height in centimeters... Maybe I recall it wrong, or I was lied to?)
ASOTIL being 2m sounds legit, he's a beast.
But in any case, Katia has always been ~160cm in my head as well, and will continue to be so. Besides, at the booru her height is only dependent on your interpretation!
Also it's funny how you guys immediately resented her being 170cm, but no one objected to her head-to-body ratio
Zargothrax: I like these kind of necroposts. Great drawing here (minus the obtrusive watermark), great that those who are relatively new here but do read the description feed can now see this.
Zargothrax: And here's the aforementioned idea, realized:
I know. You don't even know what to say. I hereby apologize to all, who wasn't prepared to see the truth.
Zargothrax: @Varanonegro: That was a joke.
Hm... It game me an interesting idea anyway...
Besides, if you look around on the booru you can see there are many different interpretations of Katia's appearance. In my opinion, no need to change your drawing.
Zargothrax: Nothing can stand in the way of the masculinity of the Imperial Legion!
If I were to point out stuff in the anatomy: The deltoid has 4 parts. One connects to the collar bone (front part), one to the outmost part of the scapula where it connects to the collar bone (middle part), and one to the scapula (back part). Here I can see 4 parts, not sure what's going on
Zargothrax: "I love all the depictions of magic in this comic". Me as well, m8. Also how it is conveyed, explained and practiced. Prequel made it feel not so easy and legitimately difficult to grasp. Great atmospheric painting!
Zargothrax: @AMKitsune: "It's not a bug, it's a feature!" I've heard that time and time again For best user experience, one of the following could be done:
1. When a tag is first used, check if it starts with either 'character:' or 'artist:'. If yes, turn the prefix to lowercase.
2. The frontend should categorize tags into the 'Artist' and 'Character' group taking the prefix case insensitively.
3. Fix the tag manually every time this comes up, I guess...
But hey, it's not my call, thanks for fixing the tag, fighting chaos, with the power of tags.
Zargothrax: Pushing the boundaries of the booru, eh?
But not going to lie, albino maid is probably the best OC that was featured here, I'm glad to see more of her.
Also the linked image's color scheme kinda made her look like Ori.
Zargothrax: Strange. No matter what I do, the artist tag reverts to starting with capital letter, causing it to being displayed incorrectly. A mod who has access to the code should take a look at this issue.
Zargothrax: We did it people, pat yourselves on the shoulder, that abomination is gone from the front page.
Hi, @Snowcookie, you've done a great service to our community, by uploading your art. Let me fix the tags for you.
Zargothrax: @damrok4321: draw them differently. You already did that once with the Dutch tilted Katia a few months ago. But in usually, references are your friend, in case you are stuck.
And in general, always start with naked body, that helps a lot, and remember to draw through the forms. It's difficult to create correct anatomy without that if the pose is a bit more complicated and contains parts that are obstructed from view.
Zargothrax: @Rick2tails: Thank you. I've just noticed that this drawing combines all 3 ways I make/made drawings.
Traditional: The runes were made on paper a long-log time ago.
Digital painting: The shape of Katia was made using my digital tablet and pen. Smooth and confident brush strokes were a must here (something that I couldn't do back then).
Digital gimmicks: I love gimmicks. Tricks with layers and masks. This painting would be nothing without them. These are the parts for which you don't need any pen. The glow effect, the way Katia defines the color of the light where she is, etc. Fiddling with these was the most time consuming part here.
I really like how this turned out, I think this is possibly my best entry yet.
